How to hide names in a chat screenshot

Make a chat example useful while keeping people and private messages out of it.

1. Check more than the message

Names may appear in the sidebar, conversation header, quoted replies, mentions, avatars, or notification banners. Cover each occurrence that you do not want to share.

2. Keep only the needed context

Read every visible message. Consider covering timestamps, phone numbers, attachments, and identifying profile images. A solid cover is the safest option offered here for text.

3. Use a sanitized support example

When opening a Discord support ticket, show only what is needed to reproduce the issue. Replace real personal details with fictional text when possible.
